Mike Skillern Accepts Field Director Position for 2024 Podulke-Smith Campaign

ROCHESTER, MINN. – May 8, 2024 – Laurel Podulke-Smith announced Mike Skillern has accepted the role of Field Director for her 2024 campaign for District One Olmsted County Commissioner. Skillern currently works in Endoscopy for Mayo Clinic and is a group fitness instructor at the Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center. His background and education are in the performing arts as an actor and director, and he taught theatre arts in Denver, CO.

As Podulke-Smith’s Field Director, Skillern is responsible for recruiting volunteers from the community and managing their training to effectively educate the voters of Olmsted County's First District about why they should re-elect Podulke-Smith as their representative on the county board.

"Since moving to Rochester in 2017, Laurel became a person who I knew I could go to with questions about Minnesota in general and Rochester in particular,” said Skillern. “I quickly learned that she was passionate and knowledgeable about local issues and was a person of integrity who would serve the people of Rochester and residents of Olmsted County.”

This is Skillern's second time on Podulke-Smith's campaign team, and the group is already preparing for the general election on November 5th.

“Mike is a fantastic person and conscientious community member. I know he will continue to connect with and inspire volunteers as they engage with community this election season,” said Podulke-Smith. “His experience in other political campaigns dating back to 2008 will serve our campaign well as we push towards a victorious outcome on November 5th.”
